FAQ

Everything you need to know.

The common questions new organizers and players ask about running a night on CourtDraws. Still stuck? We're one email away.

What is CourtDraws?

CourtDraws is a mobile app that runs your whole tennis night from one place. It takes RSVPs, draws balanced courts, posts them to your group, and keeps every score and stat — so the person organizing the night gets to actually play too.

How do I create a group?

Download the app and create a group — give it a name, pick the sport, and add where you play. You're the organizer, so you control the settings and can add co-organizers to share the load. Then invite your players with an invite link and you're ready for your first session.

How does Draw Courts work?

Once you know who's coming, CourtDraws assigns everyone to courts in a single tap. Not happy with a pairing? Tap any two players to swap them, or redraw the whole thing. When it looks right, send the courts straight to your group so everyone knows where they're playing.

What's the difference between Random and Balanced draws?

A Balanced draw uses each player's rating to even out skill across the courts, so games are competitive and fair. A Random draw ignores ratings for a pure social mix-up. You choose which one you want each time you draw — balanced for league-style nights, random for a relaxed social.

How do ratings work?

Every player has a skill rating that feeds the balanced draw. Ratings sit on the group roster alongside each player's win-loss record, and they move over time as results are logged — so the draws stay fair as people improve.

How do RSVPs work?

Players tap I'm in, Maybe, or Can't. You watch a live count fill up — who's confirmed and who hasn't replied yet — and a timeline records the night as it unfolds, so you always know exactly who you're drawing courts for.

How do invite links work?

Share an invite link (or code) and anyone who opens it can join your group — either straight away or after your approval, depending on how you set it up. Members are only ever added by joining through an invite, so there are no placeholder players cluttering your roster.

Can I see past sessions?

Yes. Every session is saved — who played, the courts you drew, and how it finished — so you can look back at any night, settle a debate about last week's score, or see how attendance is trending.

How are match results recorded?

Scoring takes seconds: tap the team that won and type the score, court by court. CourtDraws quick-picks the common scores and flags anything that doesn't add up, then saves the night and updates everyone's record and stats.

How is my data handled?

Your account is tied to your email, and your information is only visible to you and the groups you belong to — that boundary is enforced at the database level, not just in the app. You stay in control: you can sign out, leave a group, or manage your account at any time.

What devices does CourtDraws support?

CourtDraws is a mobile app, and you can install it today on either platform. iPhone is available now on the App Store. Android is available now in open beta on Google Play. Everything happens on your phone, right by the court — from taking RSVPs to sending out the draw and logging the final scores.

How much does CourtDraws cost?

Free means the complete app: own one group, invite unlimited members, run unlimited sessions, and use every gameplay feature — free, forever. Running more than one group? Organizer scales you up to ten for $4.99/month. Coach, Club and Enterprise plans are coming soon. See the Pricing page for the full breakdown.

What's coming next?

The core tennis workflow — groups, invites, RSVP, chat, draws, court editing, multi-round sessions, standings, profiles, match history, highlights and tutorials — is built and in open beta. A web dashboard is already taking shape alongside it. From here we're opening CourtDraws up further: Coach and Club plans, Enterprise, and deeper analytics.
